Mrs. Reiter’s 3rd graders have been busy with Back-to-School and STEM projects! They enjoyed seeing who could create the tallest tower using index cards and the longest chain only using two pieces of paper!
Once again this year, our school will continue to use the “House System,” in which every student and staff member will take part in to create a strong community of learners. Through this initiative, each student will be sorted into a house. These houses will have students of all grade levels in them as well as a variety of staff members. Students and staff will work together throughout the year to build strong bonds and relationships that will allow them to feel more connected to our school. Our goal is for students to feel as if they truly know all the staff and students in our school and that we are united as one.
Each house will have a unique color and the students and staff in that house will all receive a shirt that color. We ask that the students wear their shirts each time the House Groups meet. Houses will meet throughout the year to participate in team bonding activities, work on character trait development and complete special projects together.
Students will also be earning points for their houses. Points are a way that we will be reinforcing the positive behavior that our amazing students show. There will even be a friendly house competition between all the houses to see who will be our eventual ”House Champion” for the school year.
We encourage you to participate in this experience as well. Ask your children about their house, show pride in their house by wearing house colors or coming to our assemblies and get involved in our amazing community. Our school community is not just the students and staff, but you, the parents, as well!
Our first House Group day will be Friday, August 29. All the students will gather at the Elementary School at 10:00 to learn about the “House System”, find out which House they are in, and work on their first project. All students will be dismissed from the Elementary School on Friday, August 29 and it is an 11:15 dismissal day. We look forward to working together with you to grow our community.

It's not too late to join the Cross Country team! The first meet is this Saturday, 8/23, at Field Grade School. We have decided to allow 3RD GRADE to join! Come to practice this week and give it a shot!
Practice is Mon, Tue, Thu after school at the Elementary School from 3-4pm. We will be in the gym tomorrow due to heat advisories.
We will work around Baseball/Softball schedules for those that want to do both sports.

There will be a Booster Club meeting on Wednesday, August 6, at 5:00pm at the Elementary School in the cafeteria. Meetings will be scheduled for the year and two new members will be voted on.
