Today Mrs. Piercys class read Sheep in a Jeep in Mrs. Piercy’s Jeep. They made a list of “ee” words and got to practice reading words with “ee.” They read the “ee” words on sheep (white balloons) and got to toss them into the Jeep. If they read the word correctly, the jeep’s horn would go beep beep!

March was a very busy and fun month for Mrs. Harper's 1st Graders! They learned about 2D and partnered up in a STEM activity to build 3D shapes. They got a visit from a leprechaun, who somehow managed to avoid getting caught in their family project leprechaun traps. First graders love science, especially when you get to do a rainbow experiment 🌈

Congratulations to McKinley Kniffen (1st place), Violet Cates (2nd place), and Jaxson Warren (3rd place)! They wrote essays on patriotism through a contest from the Mt. Vernon Elks. McKinley’s essay was sent onto the Southern Central District level and she won at that level. Her essay has now gone onto the state level and she is waiting to hear how she places in that. We are so proud of these three students! Way to go!
